Mary Ashe-Mahr began her interest in pottery in 1975 when attending the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island.

She temporarily left pottery to graduate from the Culinary Institute of America and pursue an 18 year career in the culinary world – only to reconnect with pottery in 2005 when she took a class at the Nicodemus Center for Ceramic Studies located in the General Studies building located at Penn State Mont Alto.

She loves playing in the clay and can be found working in the studio each Saturday and Sunday creating her wares.
